A Royal Secret

Chapter 28: Ultimate Showdown! pt 1

Amy was walking in the woods being escorted by Knuckles and Shadow to Scourge’s castle. Even though Sonic explained his plan to everyone on how to outsmart Scourge and save both Amy and Sonia.

“I don’t know guys…” Amy said nervously as the trio approached the castle that was coming into view. “Even though Sonic told the plan about twice, I’m still afraid that we can pull it off.”

“Believe me Amy.” Knuckles said, not looking at the female hedgehog. “Even I have some deep doubts about this…”

“But for Sonic’s and Sonia’s sakes, we have to try.” Shadow agreed as they made it to the castle where Brute and Miles were waiting. They caught eyesight of the two hedgehogs and echidna approaching.

“They’re here.” Brute whispered to Miles in his ear as he looked at the small company coming towards them, casually.

“Yeah.” Miles said and nodded looking at them. “Looks like King Sonic made his choice.”

“Still…” Brute added, giving a suspicious look to them. “Better be on guard in case they pull a fast one on us…”

“Agreed…” Miles nodded as the two hedgehogs and red echidna came into full view and a few feet from them.

“So, you guys came.” Brute said on guard, looking at them up and down in case they had a trick up their sleeves.

“Yeah, Sonic told us to bring Amy to Scourge.” Shadow nodded with a grim face. “But on one condition.”

“Yeah, yeah, we know.” Miles nodded, really bored. “We hand over Sonia in exchange for the pink one.”

“Unharmed…” Knuckles warned them, in a threatening voice. “If Scourge or anyone else harms Sonia, he doesn’t get Amy.”

“Alright, keep your dreads on echidna.” Brute said with his arms crossed. “We’ll go get Sonia.”

“Correction.” a voice said, above Brute and Miles and they began to look about for who said that. Then all of a sudden, a blue blur came and took them away in the bushes and before you knew it, there was some fighting, punching and kicking there and suddenly it stopped…and Miles and Brute came out of the bushes.

“Well that was too easy knocking them out, huh Manic?” “Miles” or actually Tails said. He and Manic, along with everyone else beat, knocked out, tied up and gagged the real Miles and Brute in the bushes and; with a little help from Cream and Rouge, managed to disguise themselves as Miles and Brute.

“Totally Tails!” Manic agreed, nodding. “But there’s no time to talk, we have to find Sonia and beat Scourge.”

Knuckles, Amy and Shadow came over to them, admiring their disguises.

“You guys look like them perfectly.” Amy smiled, proud that the boys pulled of the disguises. “When you guys came out, I though it was the real Miles and Brute.”

“With these outfits, we can enter the castle without causing suspicions.” Manic chuckled.

“Better get inside, we might be being watched.” Tails added as they walked in the castle, trying to find the throne room and the dungeon where Sonia was being held.

“Stay close.” Shadow whispered, in case they were heard by an anti or Scourge. “Who knows what will happen…”

“Right.” everyone whispered back and nodded and soon, by pure luck, they found the throne room, where Scourge was sitting in along with his two serial killers/bodyguards, Tori and Poison. Scourge looked up and saw the group and smirked at Amy, who immediately shuddered at his actions.

“So Amy.” Scourge smirked at the pink hedgehog. “You decided to come. Good choice.”

“Enough of the chitchat, Scourge. “ Amy growled at him, with mean glare. “Where is Sonia? I’m not staying here unless you hand her over.”

“Alright.” Scourge groaned, rolling his eyes and then turned to Tori and Poison. “Girls, go get Sonia from the dungeon.”

“OK, boss.” Tori nodded to him and then she and her sister went opaque and sank through the floor to the castle dungeons and then few minutes later, they both came back with Sonia, was chained head to toe, yelling her head off.

“Let go of me!” Sonia yelled, struggling in the chains to free herself.

“Keep your quills on, princess.” Poison commanded her.

“We’re gonna let you go, in exchange for Amy.” Tori added and at the same time, the two hedgehog’s dropped her and she fell face forward. Manic had to stop himself from helping her, otherwise his cover was blown. Tails felt sorry for her too and so did the others. Scourge looked at them and then smirked.

“OK, here’s Sonia.” Scourge told them, pointed at the hedgehog still in chains. “You know the deal, you free Amy and I free Sonia.”

“And how do we know you won’t go back on your word?” Knuckles questioned, crossing his arms.

“Alright. Tori, Poison, unlock the chains.” Scourge groaned in annoyance at Knuckles’ question. Tori unpicked the lock and the chains fell off Sonia.

“OK, now let her go.” Shadow said to them. Sonia took a few steps forward uneasily, half expecting Scourge and the twins to do something, but when they didn’t do anything, Sonia continued to walk towards the others and Amy went forward as well, but when  
they came almost halfway, Scourge gave Tails and Manic a little salute. Tails was thinking why he is doing that, Manic just looked on confused as to why Scourge was repeatedly saluting them. Scourge gritted his teeth in frustration at the two of them, then he noticed something was dead wrong. Scourge, Brute and Miles agreed that they double crossed Sonic and his friends as soon as they hand over Amy and he’ll do a salute to signal them to capture the girls as soon as they were next to each other during the exchange and Scourge somehow noticed something orange sticking out from Miles’ head. He then realized that that’s not the real Miles! Maybe not even the real Brute!

Scourge then pointed at the two ghosthogs standing by and they both nodded and flew over to the others. Poison grabbed Amy and Sonia and Tori grabbed Tails and Manic, all of them struggled in their arms and both ghosthogs bonked their heads together to make them pass out.

“You really think I’m gonna let you get away with that?” Scourged laughed evilly at Knuckles and Shadow, who immediately went in battle poses after Scourge went back on his word.

“We had a deal, Scourge!” Knuckles growled, clenching his spiked fist tightly. Scourge just laughed at Knuckles for being so gullible.

“Deal has expired, Knucklehead.” Scourge smirked and then gave a loud whistle, then all the antis appeared in the room via wrap rings.

“Any last words?” Scourge asked them, feeling he got an advantage over them, but suddenly, Sonic and his friends came in through the windows and went beside Knuckles and Shadow.

“Yeah.” Sonic said, giving a cheeky grin to Scourge, who clenched his fist in annoyance at his good’s sides comment. “Bring it on, Scourge!”
